Juneteenth Jubilee

Celebrate the significance of Juneteenth with an evening of live entertainment, music, dancing, and family fun!

5:00–7:00 PM - Watch history come to life as reenactors from the Southfield Historical Society portray influential African Americans such as Phyllis Wheatley, Opal Lee, Billie Holiday, and Sojourner Truth. Kids can also enjoy games and activities with Recreation on the Move during this time.
7:00–9:00 PM - Get ready to groove with the Detroit RSVP AllStars as they take the stage!

Admission is free, and all activities are included. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase from on-site food trucks.

Southfield Basketball Camp helps young athletes build their skills through daily drills focused on ball-handling, shooting off the dribble, passing, and more. Campers will also explore the mental side of the game, while developing leadership and sportsmanship. Plus, they’ll put their skills to the test in exciting 5-on-5 games!

Presented in partnership with the Reggie McKenzie Foundation, this camp is led by coordinators Glynn Blackwell, Chico Hamilton, and Alexus Williams.

Five weekly sessions will be held from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM at the Beech Woods Recreation Center.
Camp Tuition:
• $140/week for Southfield residents (ages 7–17)
• $160/week for non-resident children

Register in person only at the Parks & Recreation Information Desk or Beech Woods Recreation Center, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Looking for a fun, refreshing way to enjoy nature? Join us for Park Adventure Walks, a weekly stroll through nature led by Cathy!
Enjoy light exercise, discover local plants and wildlife, and soak up the fresh air with a friendly group of nature lovers. You never know what you’ll spot along the trail!
We'll meet you at the parking lot the park at 9 am unless otherwise noted. Can't wait to see you there!
