All City of Southfield offices and facilities (excluding the 46th District Court) will remain closed to the public until at least Monday, May 3, 2021 or further notice. All essential public safety and public works services and departments continue to function as normal. Residents can still conduct most city business online and through City Hall’s main drop box 24/7 as well as via phone during the City Hall regular business hours, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.

What holidays will cause my trash pickup to be delayed?
Major holidays only – Example: New years, Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. All other holidays, there are no delays. Contractor works.
Can I put compost and branches at the curb anytime?
Compost & branches season is from April thru early December. During winter, they will not pick them up and there are no drop offs.
Am I allowed to put my trash out any time on my pick up day?
Trash should be out the night before after 4 p.m. or the morning of trash pick-up by 7 a.m.
Can I put bulk items out at the curb?
Limited to one bulk item per month.
Can (move-out or clean-out) items be thrown out with regular trash?
No, Move-out or clean-out requires special pick-up. Please call our office (248) 796-4860 and we can take the information and turn over to GFL Environmental to come out and look at what you have and determine a price for special pick-up.
