All City of Southfield offices and facilities (excluding the 46th District Court) will remain closed to the public until at least Monday, May 3, 2021 or further notice. All essential public safety and public works services and departments continue to function as normal. Residents can still conduct most city business online and through City Hall’s main drop box 24/7 as well as via phone during the City Hall regular business hours, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.

BEECH ROAD – 8 MILE TO 10 MILE

$4.9M investment
- $2.1M federal funds (Surface Transportation Program, Highway Improvement Program and Bridge funds)
- $2.8M Southfield Streets Improvement Bond
Work includes:
- Various pavement fixes include asphalt mill & fill, asphalt pulverizing with overlay, underlying concrete patches, curb repairs, and segments of asphalt reconstruction
- The 9 Mile intersection to be reconstructed in asphalt with a complete traffic signal upgrade
- Pedestrian ADA improvements at all intersections
- Beech Road Bridge north of 9 Mile to receive the following maintenance:
- Epoxy overlay of bridge deck
- Steel beam repairs and repainting
- Scour countermeasures
Traffic impacts:
- All NB traffic will be detoured to Inkster Road throughout the project
- Beech Road between 9 & 10 Mile will be CLOSED to all thru traffic for bridge work, once bridge work is complete SB traffic will resume
