Southfield Parks & Recreation announces Winter Session 2 (January-March 2021) Activities Guide
Southfield Parks & Recreation Department released the new Winter Session 2 (Jan-March 2021) Activities Guide online at https://www.cityofsouthfield.com/departments/parks-recreation.
Parks & Recreation Winter Session 2 guide is full of programs, both virtual and in-person, for all ages and interests; from outdoor Winter Park Adventure walks and virtual and in person dance classes for kids, to indoor fitness and sports activities at the Beech Woods Recreation Center for all ages. There are also in person classes in ceramics, dance and Spanish for adults as well as monthly Drive-Thru Luncheons for seniors.
Virtual programs are set to begin the week of January 11 while indoor programming is currently scheduled to begin in late January and early February. Registration is going on now and can easily be done online at https://apm.activecommunities.com/SouthfieldParks or by phone at (248) 796-4620, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Residents are reminded that all City of Southfield offices and facilities remain closed to the public until at least Tuesday, January 19, 2021 or further notice in accordance with the most recent state of Michigan public health order. In person registration will resume once the current State order has been lifted.
Safety protocols for indoor programs introduced during the Winter Session 1 remain in full effect. These protocols include (but are not limited to):
• Participants must pre-register for all programs. No drop-ins will be taken;
• All instructors, staff and participants are required to properly wear a face mask at all times, including during physical activity;
• Physical distancing from others must be maintained. Program sizes have been limited to help with physical distancing; and
• Temperature checks are required before participation.
