All City of Southfield offices and facilities (excluding the 46th District Court) will remain closed to the public until at least Monday, March 15, 2021 or further notice in accordance with the most recent state of Michigan public health order. All essential public safety and public works services and departments continue to function as normal. Residents can still conduct most city business online and through City Hall’s main drop box 24/7 as well as via phone during the City Hall regular business hours, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.

The Southfield Employee Retirement System (SERS) is designed to help employees in meeting their financial needs should they retire, become disabled, or die. Eligible employees of the City of Southfield and the 46th District Court are automatically enrolled into the SERS pension system upon employment.
The Southfield Employee Retirement System (SERS) provides retirement benefits as identified in the plan document, Chapter 9 of the City of Southfield Code, as from time to time amended by City Council ordinance, as well as modifications produced as a result of collective bargaining. The SERS system includes all career employees of the City of Southfield and the 46th District Court, other than sworn members of the Police and Fire Departments and others excluded from membership according to the plan document.
