Southfield is making a splash!
On Wednesday, Oct. 28, we break ground on Southfield’s new Aquatic Center. Construction begins with the groundbreaking. Swipe to see renderings of what’s coming.
The roughly $26 million project adds a 28,000-square-foot addition and renovates about 10,000 square feet of existing space.
Here’s what’s planned:
A 4,900-square-foot leisure pool with zero-depth entry and interactive water features
A splash pad with ground jets, bubblers and double kiddie racer slides
A lazy river with spray features and a conversation cove
An indoor/outdoor water slide that loops outside the building and back in
A four-lane, 75-foot lap pool with starting blocks
A therapeutic pool for water aerobics and low-impact exercise
New locker rooms, a community event space and a wet classroom for swim lessons
It’s a new place for families to play, for residents to stay active and for neighbors to connect.
