Voter Notice: State Primary – August 4, 2026

A candidate for the Michigan State Senate has withdrawn from the August 4, 2026, State Primary. However, the candidate's name will still appear on the ballot.
If you have already cast your absentee ballot and wish to change your vote, Michigan law allows eligible voters to request that their absentee ballot be spoiled and a replacement ballot be issued.
To request that your absentee ballot be spoiled, you must:

Visit the City Clerk's Office in person.

Present a valid photo ID.
Deadlines

If you have already returned your absentee ballot: You may request to spoil your ballot no later than Friday, July 24, 2026.

If you still have your absentee ballot in your possession: You may request to spoil your ballot no later than Friday, July 31, 2026.
Voters who choose not to spoil their absentee ballot do not need to take any action. Their ballot will still be tabulated, and all valid votes cast on that ballot will be counted.
