The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC), in partnership with the City of Southfield, will host a public information meeting Tuesday, May 7, to share information about the 10 Mile Road concrete-replacement project between Evergreen Road and Greenfield Road. The work will start in mid-to-late June and be completed in the fall.

MEETING DETAILS
WHAT: Public-information meeting to discuss project plans and traffic impacts during construction.
WHEN: Tuesday, May 7, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
WHERE: City of Southfield Municipal Campus, Marcotte Room in the lower level of the Pavilion, 26000 Evergreen Road, Southfield, MI 48076
NOTE: The meeting will be “open house” format. There will be no formal presentation. Anyone can attend any time between 4-7 p.m. to review information and speak with an RCOC representative.

PROJECT DETAILS
The project will include the removal and replacement of failed concrete slaps and curbs/gutters in the eastbound lanes of 10 Mile between Evergreen Road and Southfield Road, the westbound lanes between Southfield Road and Greenfield Road and isolated locations within the rest of the project area. The project also includes upgrades to pedestrian crosswalks to comply with the American Disabilities Act (ADA).

IMPACT ON TRAFFIC
Traffic will be maintained throughout the project, with one lane open in each direction. Lanes will be shifted during the project to accommodate construction. Access to properties along 10 Mile Road will be maintained at all times during the project, though there will be temporary side-street and driveway closures to facilitate pavement placement.

FUNDING
This project is expected to cost approximately $3.2 million. The cost will be shared by RCOC, the City of Southfield and Oakland County general government (through the Tri-Party Program).
