Southfield Wildlife Commission Earth/Arbor Day Community Clean Up

The City of Southfield Wildlife Commission & Southfield Public Schools will host the Earth/Arbor Day Community Clean-Up on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. Those interested in participating are requested to meet at the Southfield Pavilion for team assignments.
Suggested Items to Bring for the Earth Day Clean-Up
- Work Gloves – Protect hands from dirt, debris, and sharp objects.
- Rakes – Clear leaves, twigs, and other debris from trails and garden beds.
- Shovels – Assist with digging, leveling soil, and preparing garden beds.
- Garbage Bags – For collecting non-recyclable waste.
- Recycle Bags – For collecting recyclable materials separately.
- Water Bottles – Stay hydrated while working.
- Trash Grabbers/Pickers – Make it easier to pick up litter without bending down.
- Buckets – Useful for carrying soil, compost, or larger debris.
- Brooms – Help sweep paved areas or sidewalks.
- Compostable Yard Waste Bags – For leaves, branches, and other organic material.
- Sun Protection – Hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen for protection from the sun.
- First Aid Kit – Bandages, antiseptic wipes, and any necessary medical supplies for minor injuries.
- Comfortable Clothing & Closed-Toe Shoes – Wear weather-appropriate, durable clothing and sturdy shoes for safety.
