Southfield Veterans’ Commission to sponsor Veterans’ Care Package Giveaway May 15

The Southfield Veterans’ Commission, in partnership with the Southfield Police Department, Oakland County, Oakland County Community Health Network, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency, will host a free Veterans’ Care Package Giveaway on Saturday, May 15 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Southfield Public Library circle drive, 26300 Evergreen Road.

The giveaway will include free food boxes and important information for veterans on additional community resources and services available. The program is open to all veterans, active duty, guard and reserves and their families on a first-come, first served basis while supplies last. The first 100 attendees will also receive a $25 Meijer gift card. Registration is required by e-mailing mcdonaldc@oaklandchn.org or calling Chaka McDonald at (248) 764-4443. Face masks will be required of all participants and social distancing will be observed.
