Southfield P&R presents Conversations & Cocktails February 15 as part of Black History Month Celebration

The Southfield Parks & Recreation Department will present Conversations & Cocktails as part of the Southfield Celebrates Black History Month on Saturday, February 15 in the Southfield Pavilion, 26000 Evergreen Road.

Join us for an evening of great music and spoken word featuring Alex Goss & Detroit Soul Rhythm Band performing R&B and Soul music from the 70’s, 80’s & 90’s as well as spoken word with notable poets and drummers from metro Detroit hosted by Ber-Henda Williams.

The event will include a cash bar as well as food available for purchase. General Admission tickets are $10 per person and are available at the Parks & Recreation Information Desk.

The Southfield Parks & Recreation Department is presenting a number of special programs this February as part of ‘Southfield Celebrates Black History Month’ to remember the contributions and celebrate the history of African-Americans. The month-long celebration included the Southfield Celebrates Black History Month’ kick-off event on February 1; Black History Movie Night on February 7 featuring the documentary 13th; the new Conversations & Cocktails event on February 15 and The Spirit of Harriet Tubman play on February 17; Between the Lines Coloring Café featuring Naturally ILLustraded on February 22; and concluding on February 28 with the return of The Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers event.
