Southfield P&R to host Middle School Basketball Playoff & Youth Wheelchair Basketball Tournament December 15

Southfield Parks & Recreation will host 6-8th Grade Leagues Playoff Games and a Youth Wheelchair Basketball Tournament on Saturday, December 15 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Beech Woods Recreation Center, 22200 Beech Road.

Meet and hear from several former NBA players from the Detroit Chapter of the National Basketball Retired Players Association, including: Willie Norwood - Detroit Pistons; Derrick Coleman - Detroit Pistons; Willie Burton - Miami Heat; Maceo Baston - Detroit Pistons; Charles Edge - Indiana Pacers; and Charles Turner - Harlem Globetrotters. Players will share their personal stories about life in and after the NBA in addition to speaking about the values of the game on and off the court, character development, encouraging positive behavior and discipline that will help in the everyday lives of the participants.

The event is free and open to all youht. Registration for Winter Basketball Leagues & Clinics will also be available at the event.
