Southfield Police to sponsor Badges & Books book giveway and Lock it For Love gun lock giveway March 1

The Southfield Police Department, in partnership with Meijer, the Southfield Public Library, 411 Therapy, and Friends of the Southfield Public Library, is proud to celebrate the kickoff of Reading Month in March withe Badges & Books giveaway! The Police Department and partners will pass out gently used books for children from infants through young adults on Tuesday, March 1 from 5-7 p.m. at the Meijer store located at 28800 Telegraph Rd. (corner of Telegraph and 12 Mile). Additionally, the Southfield Police Department will be passing out free gun locks at this event. Chief Barren will also be on hand to relay the importance of enhancement through reading AND the importance of gun safety.
