All City of Southfield offices and facilities will remain closed to the public until at least Monday, February 1, 2021 or further notice in accordance with the most recent state of Michigan public health order. All essential public safety and public works services and departments continue to function as normal. Residents can still conduct most city business online and through City Hall’s main drop box 24/7 as well as via phone during the City Hall regular business hours, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.
Southfield Police Department to host Safety Trunk or Treat Thursday, October 31

The Southfield Police Department will host Halloween “Trunk or Treat” on Thursday, October 31 from 6-8 p.m. in the south municipal campus parking lot located near the Police Station, 26000 Evergreen Road. The event will be held in the Southfield Pavilion in the event of rain.
The Southfield Police Trunk or Treat will feature the added fun of “Trunk or Treating” from a variety of police cruisers and SUVs. Participants will also be given an opportunity to check out the vehicles while children get a treat from each one along with important safety information for parents.
Southfield Parks and Recreation will be on hand with games and crafts as well as Southfield Fire Department, Outback Steakhouse and Kroger with additional fun and giveaways.
The Southfield Emergency Management Division will offer free Halloween candy screening from 6-9 p.m. at the Southfield Sports Arena. The recommended hours for trick-or-treating in Southfield are from 6-8 p.m.
