The Southfield Police Department will host Badges and Books on March 5, March 12, March 19, and March 26 from 5-7 p.m. at the Meijer store located at 28800 Telegraph Road, Southfield. 

During the event, the Southfield Police Department will pass out gently used books to children from infants through young adults. In addition, the Police Department will be hosting the “Love Our Kids, Lock Your Guns,” gun lock giveaway during the event. Officers will be on hand to relay the importance of enhancement through reading and the importance of gun safety. The event is sponsored through a partnership between the Southfield Police Department, Meijer, the Southfield Public Library and the Friends of the Southfield Library,
