The Southfield Parks & Recreation Department will host Family Fun and Safety Night Wednesday, August 8 from 5-9 p.m. on the front lawn of the Southfield Municipal Campus, 26000 Evergreen Road. This event was rescheduled from June 27 due to inclement weather.

Family Fun and Safety Night is a free event that will offer something for the entire family, including: a children’s fun area featuring inflatables (must wear socks), crafts, games and more. The Southfield Police Department’s K-9 Division, Mobile Command Unit, General Purpose Vehicle, ATV, Special Entry Response Team, Crime Prevention, Community Policing and Neighborhood Watch representatives will be on hand in addition to tours of the Southfield Fire Department’s Safety House. The event will also feature representatives from the Southfield Public Library with information on library programs and events.

The evening will be topped off with a special family movie, Despicable Me 3 (rated PG), under the stars presented by Vibe Credit Union. The movie will begin around 7:30 p.m. and run until approximately 9:00 p.m. Please bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
