Southfield kicks off holiday season with Municipal Campus Tree Lighting Ceremony December 5

The city of Southfield will officially kickoff the holiday season with the annual Municipal Campus Tree Lighting Ceremony on Tuesday, December 5 from 6-8 p.m. on the front lawn of the Southfield Municipal Campus, 26000 Evergreen Road.

The festivities begin with a welcome by Southfield Mayor Kenson Siver and other city officials, the arrival of Santa brought in by the Southfield A&T High School Marching Band and the lighting ceremony at approximately 6 p.m. Following the ceremony, visitors will be able to visit with animals at the petting zoo, enjoy ice carving demonstrations, and watch the University High Dance Team perform. The event will also feature take and make crafts for kids and enjoy cookies and hot chocolate outside in front of City Hall. Santa Claus will also be visiting with children inside the Southfield Pavilion throughout the evening. Come with your Christmas list ready! Admission is free.
