The semiannual Household Hazardous Waste Day will be held on Saturday, October 30 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the RRRASOC Materials Recovery Facility (MRF). Please enter at the RRRASOC MRF - Truck Entrance located at 20875 Mapleridge Avenue.

Household Hazardous Waste Day is a semiannual day devoted to discarding household hazardous waste materials in an environmentally safe and convenient way. The Resource Recovery and Recycling Authority of Southwest Oakland County (RRRASOC) oversees the disposal of oil-based paint (no latex), stain, pesticides, herbicides, medications, batteries, car batteries, motor oil, fluorescent lightbulbs, electronic and computer equipment and other household hazardous wastes one Saturday each fall and spring. Paper shredding is also available; however, there is a 100 pound or three box limit per household. Clothing, shoes, accessories, and small house-hold items will be accepted by Simple Recycling at this event as well. Bag these items and keep them separate from your HHW.

Household Hazardous Waste Days are available to all residents of RRRASOC-member communities. Southfield residents may attend any of the other RRRASOC events held in the area. Residents must show proof of residency to participate.
