Annual event honors service and sacrifice of military personnel

The city of Southfield will host the annual Veteran’s Day Ceremony on Thursday, November 9 at 11:00 a.m. in Council Chambers, 26000 Evergreen Road. 

 

The city sponsors the annual event in partnership with the Southfield Veterans’ Commission to honor and recognize the service and sacrifice of military personnel. The ceremony will include remarks by Mayor Kenson Siver; a keynote address by retired Colonel Keith M. Sousa, former Commander of the US Army Reserves in Southfield; a medley tribute to the armed services by the Southfield High School for the Arts & Technology Advanced Choir and a 21-gun salute. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will follow in the main lobby of City Hall.
