The city of Southfield will host the annual Veterans’ Day Ceremony on Friday, November 9 at 11:00 a.m. in Council Chambers, 26000 Evergreen Road. As part of the ceremony, the City is also seeking speakers to provide approximately one-minute tributes for living or deceased veterans of any U.S. military action or branch.

The city sponsors the annual event in partnership with the Southfield Veterans’ Commission to honor and recognize the service and sacrifice of military personnel. New this year, the ceremony will feature a WWI historical artifact display in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the armistice as well as an interactive presentation. The ceremony will also include remarks by Mayor Kenson Siver, community veteran tributes and a 21-gun salute. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will follow in the Southfield Pavilion.
