Southfield Emergency Preparedness to sponsor Amateur Radio License Class

The Southfield department of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness will sponsor a 10-session amateur radio license class from June 6-August 15 in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) located in the basement of the Southfield Parks & Recreation building, 26000 Evergreen Road.

The course covers basic regulations, operating practices and electronics theory. Morse code is not required for this license. Classes will be held weekly beginning Thursday, June 6 (no class on July 4) from 7-9 p.m. Participants will receive a Technician Class License upon successful completion of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Technician License exam.
