Southfield Chapter of My Brother’s Keeper to host ‘Meal with a Message’ June 22

The Southfield Chapter of My Brother’s Keeper will host ‘Meal with a Message’ on Saturday, June 22 from 11:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Southfield Public Library, 26300 Evergreen Road.

Young men of color in grades 6-12 are invited to join the members of My Brother’s Keeper for lunch and conversation. Participants will get an introduction to coding and podcasting. There will be no July session.

My Brother’s Keeper is a national initiative that focuses on teaching boys and young men of color how to be impactful leaders in their community and achieve academic success. The Southfield chapter of My Brother’s Keeper co-sponsors an annual youth symposium designed to help young men develop life skills and gain valuable information needed to succeed. The youth symposium serves hundreds of male students from local school districts each year. The group has also organized a youth job fair, necktie collection for young men and sponsored motivational events.
