Southfield Celebrates Grand Opening of Panda Express on Telegraph Road
February 13, 2026
The City of Southfield is pleased to announce the grand opening of Panda Express Chinese Kitchen, located at 29185 Telegraph Road. The celebration will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17, marking continued private investment along Southfield’s Telegraph Road commercial corridor.
Founded in 1983, Panda Express has grown to become largest American Chinese-inspired quick-service restaurant chain in the United States, with more than 2,400 locations nationwide. The brand’s expansion into Southfield reflects strong market confidence and reinforces the City’s position as a regional destination for national retailers and restaurant operators.
The new restaurant enhances dining options for residents, office professionals, and visitors while contributing to job creation, increased foot traffic, and continued reinvestment along one of Southfield’s primary commercial corridors.
“Panda Express’s decision to invest in Southfield is a testament to the strength of our community and our commercial marketplace,” said Southfield Mayor Kenson Siver. “We are proud to welcome this nationally recognized brand and look forward to the economic and community benefits this new location will bring.”
Panda Express is recognized not only for its national growth and operational excellence, but also for its strong workplace culture and philanthropic initiatives supporting education, health, and local communities. Its presence in Southfield represents both economic vitality and long-term partnership.
The grand opening celebration will include brief remarks and a ceremonial ribbon cutting. As part of the festivities, special gifts will be provided to the first 88 guests following the ceremony.
The City of Southfield welcomes Panda Express and looks forward to continued commercial momentum throughout the Telegraph corridor.
