The Southfield Parks and Garden Club will hold the 18th Annual Southfield Garden Walk on Sunday, June 22 from 2-5 p.m. The walk will feature 15 beautiful yards in the Sherwood Village Neighborhood, bounded by Southfield Road and Southwood Street, north of Ten Mile.  Registration will take place in front of the former Schoenhals School located at16400 Lincoln.

Tickets for the Garden Walk are $15 and may be purchased on the day of the event or from the Southfield Mayor’s Office in advance. The Garden Walk will begin at the corner of Woodvilla and Lincoln and wind through the neighborhood. Sherwood Village is a lovely subdivision of Mid-Century Modern homes and colonials.  Attendees are encouraged to walk the loop through the neighborhood; however, a shuttle bus will also make a continuous loop around the subdivision. Most yards on display are clustered closely together in several areas. Free parking and refreshments will also be available.

The Southfield Parks & Garden Club started the annual garden walk to showcase some of Southfield’s beautiful and unique home gardens and garden art, to offer tips and ideas to homeowners, and to provide information on annuals, perennials, shrubs, and trees and to promote Southfield’s housing stock. The Parks & Garden Club also maintains trails in city parks, performs yard maintenance for the handicapped and elderly, and operates the Emmanuel Community Farm with all produce donated to Forgotten Harvest.
