Picnic Shelter Reservations begin Friday, March 1. Groups may reserve picnic areas at Civic Center Park, Beech Woods Park, and Pebble Creek Park for dates between May 1 through October 31, 2024. 

The first day of picnic shelter reservations will take place in Parks & Recreation Room 115 beginning at 8 a.m. Numbers will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants may enter through the main doors of the Parks & Recreation Building (north facing the parking lot). Reservations will take place beginning at 9 a.m. on March 1. Reservations made March 2 or later may be made at the Parks & Recreation Information Desk. 

Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis and must be made by a Southfield resident or Business Leisure Card holder. Payment in full is required at time of booking. Cash and all major credit cards are accepted (no personal checks). The picnic area may be reserved from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. There are no refunds on shelter permits. The park and its amenities are available to the public as well as picnic permit holders, however, the picnic shelter is exclusive to the permit holder’s group. Electricity is not available at picnic shelters and no alcohol is allowed. Permit holder will be billed for any damage incurred during the outing.
