Parks & Recreation to host ‘The Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers’ February 28

The city of Southfield Parks & Recreation department, in partnership with OHM Advisors, will host The Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers on Thursday, February 28 at 7 p.m. in the Southfield Pavilion, 26000 Evergreen Road. Guests are invited to attend a pre-glow from 6:00-6:45 p.m. to meet the artists before the performance.

The Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers will feature six storytellers sharing true, personal stories of black history in celebration of Black History Month. Hosted by Satori Shakoor, the event will include performances by musical guests Dwayne Brown and the Omowale Cultural Society as well as storytellers Daniel Baxter, Carolyn Carter, Alma Greer, Alexander Morgan, Pauline Onyango and Dwight Stackhouse. A cash bar and food will be available for purchase. The event will also feature the Storytellers Marketplace where guests can browse and support local vendors before the show and during intermission.

Tickets for The Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers are $10 per person and are available at the Parks & Recreation Information Desk, located within the Parks and Recreation Building, 26000 Evergreen Road.
