Oakland County Stabilization Fund for Small Businesses

The State of Michigan and Oakland County are providing immediate help for small businesses impacted by COVID-19-19 pandemic and the resulting Executive Order 2020-20.  The state grant will assist qualifying small businesses up to $10,000 to help offset losses or expenses resulting from the Coronavirus emergency. The MEDC allocated $1.5 million towards Oakland County. The Oakland County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved doubling the grant dollars in the Oakland County Stabilization Fund for Small Businesses that will be made available to Oakland County businesses assist them during this very difficult time.  A portion of these funds will be dedicated to manufacturers that are able to transition their businesses to assist with the the production of personal protection equipment.

The Cities of Southfield and Lathrup Village will establish a review committee to help distribute these funds. Attached please find a letter from the Oakland County Executive and a district map. 

The MEDC and Oakland County are trying to get these funds out to the business community quickly:

  • Deadline for all grant and loan applications: APRIL 6, 2020 at noon
  • Districts to review the grants: APRIL 8, 2020
  • Recommendations for grant selection: APRIL 10
  • Notification of Award: APRIL 13
  • Disbursement of Awards: APRIL 15
