Mayor Siver to present iconic actress, fashion figure & advocate Selma Blair with Key to the City at Yoga Moves MS Fundraiser Luncheon May 16

Southfield Mayor Dr. Kenson Siver will present the Key to the City to former resident, iconic actress, fashion figure and multiple sclerosis advocate Selma Blair on Friday, May 16 at 12 noon at the Yoga Moves MS Fundraiser Luncheon at the Westin Southfield-Detroit, 1500 Town Center.
Actress Selma Blair will host this fundraising luncheon to support Yoga Moves MS with special opportunities for guests to get photos with Ms. Blair as well as signing copies of her memoir Mean Baby. Ticket prices will also include a plated lunch, beverages and dessert with all proceeds supporting the Yoga Moves MS 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Friends of the Southfield Public Arts will also host an Art & Vintage Fashion Show and fundraiser on Friday, May 16 from 7-9 p.m. at the former Skyline Club on the 28th floor of 2000 Town Center hosted by Ms. Blair. The fashion show will feature students from the Southfield A&T Dance Team who will model over 40 articles of vintage clothing from the 1940s through 1970s. About Selma Blair
Selma James Blair is an iconic on-screen personality, fashion figure, and activist whose remarkable career spans several decades. Yoga Moves MS, (YMMS), is a 501C3, that has supported individuals with MS, Parkinson's Disease, and other neurological disorders for the past twenty years, through free adaptive yoga. Yoga Moves MS is a supportive community of students, yoga instructors, therapists, and volunteers whose mission is to increase the quality of life and wellness for individuals impacted by MS through virtual and in-person adaptive yoga. The organization seeks to educate the expanding YMMS community about yoga as an umbrella for healthy lifestyle choices and a way of life. Adaptive yoga focuses on pose adaptations for each individual student’s needs, which may be standing, seated, or on the mat. The use of props makes the practice accessible to any and every body.
