Kerby’s Koney Island at 25050 Northwestern Highway is excited to host its Grand Re-Opening Anniversary Celebration on Thursday, December 8 at 11 a.m. This event is free and open to the public. Guests are invited to stop in, enjoy the refreshed interior, and take part in specials and surprises as the restaurant celebrates its successful return to the Southfield community.

The Northwestern Highway location suffered a devastating kitchen fire in June 2023, leading to a long-term closure for rebuilding and renovation. While repairs were underway, Kerby’s continued serving diners through its Southfield Telegraph Road location, which remained open. After more than two years of construction, the Northwestern restaurant officially reopened to the public on August 18, 2025.
