The City of Southfield Parks & Recreation Department will kick off the holiday season with the annual Southfield Tree Lighting Ceremony on Tuesday, December 2, from 6–8 p.m. on the front lawn of the Southfield Municipal Campus, 26000 Evergreen Road.

The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a welcome from Mayor Kenson Siver and city officials, followed by the arrival of Santa, escorted by the Southfield A&T High School Marching Band, to officially light the city tree.

After the lighting, families are invited to stay and enjoy a variety of festive activities including a petting zoo, ice carving demonstrations, live entertainment, take-and-make crafts for kids, cookies and hot chocolate served in front of City Hall. Santa will be greeting children and hearing holiday wishes inside the Southfield Pavilion this year—so don’t forget to bring your list!
