City of Southfield and Ascension Providence partner with Southfield AKA’s to host free Pink Goes Red Community Health Fair February 8

Event will feature Ascension mobile health units, dance lessons, prizes and more!

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Pi Tau Omega Chapter, Ascension Providence and the city of Southfield will host the Pink Goes Red Community Health Fair on Saturday, February 8 from 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Southfield Pavilion, 26000 Evergreen Road.

The free Healthy Heart, Healthy You health fair will include the Ascension mobile health screening units onsite from 9 a.m. – noon in the P&R Building front circle drive. The Mobile Mammogram Unit will serve all women (insured, uninsured, under-insured or with limited access to screening) ages 40 and up on a first-come, first served basis. The Mobile Heart Screening Unit will provide non-invasive heart screening including a cardiac health assessment, blood pressure check, electrocardiogram (EKG) and body mass index (BMI) on a first-come, first served basis.

The health fair will also include information on how to treat diabetes, foot care and screenings, nephrology (kidneys), blood pressure, dermatology, hands-only CPR, Zumba, Hustle and African dance lessons and walking along with numerous related vendors and prizes.
