City of Southfield citywide picnic shelter reservations will begin on Monday, April 5 at the Southfield Municipal Campus, 26000 Evergreen Road. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. and rentals will begin at 9 a.m.  Please enter through the Southfield Pavilion through the Plaza Deck doors located in the rear of the building.

All shelter reservations must be made by Southfield residents (or business leisure card holders) on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the large turnout on the first day of reservations, residents will be issued a number as they enter the Pavilion. After April 5, residents must call (248) 796-4620 to schedule an appointment with a Parks and Recreation customer service representative in order to make reservations in person. Upon arrival, customers must call the Parks and Recreation Information Desk and meet with the customer service representative to enter the building. The Southfield Parks and Recreation Information Desk Window is located in the Southfield Pavilion and available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Payment in full is required at time of booking and there are no refunds on shelter permits.

Picnic shelter areas may be reserved seven-days-a-week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.  Electricity is not available at picnic shelters and no alcohol is allowed.  The park and its amenities are available to the public as well as picnic shelter permit holders; however, the picnic shelter is exclusive to the permit holder’s group.  Picnic shelter reservations may be made at the following parks: Civic Center Park Shelter #1 at the Southfield Municipal Complex, 2600 Evergreen Road - maximum occupancy of 100 people (15 tables) $200/day; Civic Center Park Shelter #2 - maximum occupancy of 50 people (10 tables) $100/day (only available for rental on Saturdays and Sundays); Beech Woods Park Shelter, 22200 Beech Road - maximum occupancy of 65 people (12 tables) $150/day; and Pebble Creek Park, American Drive west of Franklin and north of 11 Mile Road - maximum occupancy of 150 people (18 tables) $275/day.
