D.    Presentations/Project Status/Approvals: 

  • Detroit Regional Chamber sponsorship naming: Rochelle Freeman
  • Installation of pollinator garden at Eaton Corp. Update: Joane Slusky, Juno Solutions, LLC. Recommend approving the low qualified bidder Artistic Outdoor Solutions, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $76,000. (Note: Total line-item budget # 930.9300 Maintenance & Improvements (7) for Pollinator Garden is $70,000. Additional funds will come from CPB Landscape replacements).  Irrigation in the amount of $2,500 will be paid out of Contractor Installations (misc.).
  • Approval for purchase of Five (5) Flock Cameras: The approximate cost per camera is $2500/per year with a onetime install cost of $100-$500 depending on location and pole utilized. A 5-year contract is required. Lieutenant Blake Matatall, Investigations Division, Southfield Police Department. (Budget Line Item #971.9740 Land Improvements balance is approx. $15,000)
  • Approval for Year 3 of the Bike Share Service by Tandem Mobility in the amount of $52,200 for 29 standard bikes and one trike: (Note: Budget Line Item #801.8180 Special Projects & Professional Services (7) is $55,000)
  • Update on purchase of art piece from the Detroit Design Center:  Planning is currently seeking approval of a proposed location and easement at LTU. Total anticipated price: $42,000 (including delivery, installation, and structural drawings for the foundation), exclusive of concrete foundation (estimated at $8,000). (Note: Total line-item budget # #801.8180 Special Projects & Professional Services (4) for Public Art Installations and maintenance is $60,000.)
  • Update on Purchase/Repair of bollards: Still exploring options.
  • Update on disposition of “60” sign:  Still investigating.
