Mission: We strive to offer services and opportunities to promote personal growth, independence, dignity and respect for the citizens of Southfield.

Eligibility: Assistance is available to residents of Southfield. Please call for an appointment.

Services: Southfield Human Services provides a number of programs and services all designed to meet the specialized needs of our residents. These include Legal Aid and Educational Programs.

FREE Legal Clinic provided by Lakeshore Legal Aid - available to low-income and senior Oakland, Macomb or Wayne County residents -   (First Friday of each month) - **Clinic begins at 9:00 a.m.  All clients must be signed in by 10:00 a.m.** call for dates

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)
TEFAP will take place on  certain Wednesdays  from 9 a.m. -11:00 a.m. at the Burgh Historical Church located at 26080 Berg Road.  This program is open to any Oakland County resident and allows participants to pick up two bags of non-perishable food. Call for dates

Michigan Prescription Discount Cards
Michigan Prescription Discount Cards are a free statewide prescription assistance program available to everyone in the state. There are no restrictions or eligibility requirements. Anyone can use the cards regardless of age, income or preexisting conditions. Cards can be picked up from the Southfield Human Services Department, located at 26000 Evergreen Road.

Supportive Services for Veteran Families
This program is for families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. A case manager will be available to coordinate and provide intensive housing services (one-on-one) on the first Tuesday of each month from 1-3 p.m. at the Southfield Human Services Department, 26000 Evergreen Road.

Free Legal Aid
Free legal aid is available to low-income and senior Oakland, Macomb or Wayne County residents from 9-10 a.m.  An attorney will provide eligible clients advice on civil matters. Please bring all necessary documents pertaining to your legal issue.   Call for dates

Department of Health and Human Services’ Mobile Social Worker
A mobile Social Worker will provide the following services to residents: help apply for food, Medicaid, cash and emergency assistance, answer case questions, and provide referrals to other agencies on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.  at Southfield Human Services, 26000 Evergreen Road.
