Construction work throughout the state is temporarily suspended on most road projects due to a labor dispute between the Michigan Infrastructure Transportation Association (MITA) and Operating Engineers, Local 324 (OE 324). On September 4, MITA initiated a defensive lockout of all OE 324 employees. The lockout will end and work will resume once a contract is ratified.
