Southfield Parks and Recreation and partners will host Bike Safety Night on Thursday, May 9 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the north parking lot of the Southfield Municipal Campus near the Parks & Recreation building, 26000 Evergreen Road.

During this free, family event, attendees are invited to bring their bikes and ride through the Bike Skills Course, set up by the League of Michigan Bicyclists in the Parks & Recreation parking lot, where they can learn and practice essential bike skills.  Bikes can be safety checked by local experts on site to make sure they are in top form. Upon completing the course, participants will also be entered to win a new bike. Participants will also receive guidance on sharing the road safely with others from the Southfield Police Department.  Representatives from Corewell Health Children will be properly fitting and giving away free bicycle helmets for the first 400 visitors. Don't miss this fantastic opportunity to improve your biking skills and learn how to stay safe on the road.
