The city of Southfield has extended the deadline to pay 2009 winter taxes without penalty until February 16 due to the holiday. City hall will be closed on Monday, February 15 in observation of Presidents’ Day. The last day to pay 2009 winter taxes and special assessments with penalty is February 28.
Payments may be made online, in person, by mail or at the 24-hour drop box located in front of City Hall. Residents may also pay at local Comerica Bank branches through the close of business on February 13. Online payments can be made through Oakland County’s Web site (utilizing PayLocalTaxes.com) for a small additional fee. Payments made after February 16 will result in a 3 percent penalty. Payments made after March 1 must be sent to the Oakland County Treasurer’s Office in Pontiac.
