The Southfield
Veterans’ Commission, in conjunction with the city of Southfield, will
host a Veterans’ Information Seminar on Friday, November 3 from 1 – 4
p.m. in Room 115 of the Parks and Recreation building, 26000 Evergreen
Road.
The free
educational seminar will feature a variety of speakers who will discuss
state of Michigan veterans’ services, including medical, burial and
financial benefits as well as state and federal job placement
assistance. Representatives from the following offices will participate
in the program: General Carol Fausone, Michigan Department of Veterans’
Affairs; Kim Fulton, U.S. Department of Labor; Jack Devine, Grand
Rapids Home for Veterans; Rick Anderson, Great Lakes National Cemetery;
Scott Romp, Veterans’ Haven; and the Southfield Department of Human
Services.
Light
refreshments will be available and tax deductible donations to the
Southfield Veterans’ Commission will be accepted. The Southfield
Veterans’ Commission is a 501(a) non-profit commission of the city of
Southfield that provides employment and benefits assistance to area
