City of Southfield Mayor Brenda L. Lawrence’s testimony on the foreclosure crisis before the U.S. House of Representative’s Committee on Oversight and Government Reform was carried live on C-SPAN today.
Mayor Lawrence testified about how the ongoing mortgage and home foreclosure crisis has negatively impacted Southfield and the region. The Committee on Oversight and Government Reform has broad oversight jurisdiction over various state and federal issues.
Mayor Lawrence also took part in a live interview following her testimony on the Fox Business Network as well as a taped interview that will be aired on the CBS Evening News. In the interviews, Mayor Lawrence discussed her testimony and expounded on the foreclosure crisis both in Southfield and metro Detroit.
