
The city of Southfield will sponsor Winter Fun Fest as part of the City’s 50 anniversary celebration on Sunday, February 17 from 2-6:30 p.m. at the Southfield Pavilion and Sports Arena, located in the Municipal Complex at 26000 Evergreen Road.
This free community event will feature an afternoon of music, food, fun and games for the whole family, including: children’s arts and crafts; hayrides; dog-sledding; animal petting farm including miniature horses, goats, sheep, donkeys, alpaca, bunnies and ducks; interactive gaming area featuring Guitar Hero, Rock Band and Wii Sports; ice fishing; snowshoeing; air brush face painting; obstacle courses; and ice sculpture carving demonstrations. Free ice skating will be available at the Southfield Sports Arena from 3-4:30 p.m. as well as live musical performances in the Pavilion by Paul Miles from 2-3 p.m., Ursula Walker & Buddy Budson Trio from 3-4 p.m., Stan Barnes & Friends from 4-5 p.m., and the Motor City Brass Band from 5-6 p.m. The event will also feature food available for purchase from several local vendors. The fireworks display scheduled to conclude the evening has been cancelled due to the inclement weather predicted.
