Southfield seeking applications for Senior King & Queen for a Day

(SOUTHFIELD, Mich.) – As part of the city of Southfield’s 50th anniversary celebration in 2008, the Commission on Senior Adults (COSA) is sponsoring the Southfield Senior King and Queen for a Day contest. Southfield seniors are invited to submit an application on behalf of themselves, or to nominate another worthy candidate. Applicants will be interviewed by a panel of judges who will select the king, queen and runners-up who most closely match the criteria. There is a $5 entry fee, the proceeds of which will be used to fund other senior adult programs sponsored by COSA.

Entrants must have resided in Southfield for at least 10 years, must not be an employee of the City of Southfield, and be at least 62 years of age. Applications are available at the Southfield Municipal Complex (26000 Evergreen Road) and the Adult Recreation Center 50+ (24350 Civic Center Drive) during regular business hours. Applications may also be downloaded below. All completed applications must be submitted by Monday, December 31 to the Adult Recreation Center 50+.
