(SOUTHFIELD, Mich.) – The city of Southfield will host the annual Veterans’ Day Ceremony on Friday, November 9 at 11:00 a.m. on the front steps of City Hall, 26000 Evergreen Road.
The City sponsors the annual event in partnership with the Southfield Veterans’ Organization to honor and recognize the service and sacrifice of military personnel. The ceremony will include opening remarks by Mayor Brenda L. Lawrence; keynote address by Colonel Andres Ploompuu, director of military support to civil authorities, United States Army; performances by the Southfield Levey Middle School Band; presentation of colors; 21-gun salute; and the “Citizen of the Year” award presentation to Tyrone Chatman.
The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will follow in City Hall.
