City of Southfield launches live webcasts of City Council meetings

(SOUTHFIELD, Mich.) – The city of Southfield now offers live webcasts of regular City Council meetings typically held every other Monday at 7 p.m.

To view the webcasts, log on to the City’s Web site at www.cityofsouthfield.com and then click on ‘City Council Webcasts’ under the ‘Residents’ tab on the far left of the homepage. The regular City Council meetings on October 22, November 19 (Inauguration), November 26 and December 10 will be webcast live beginning at 7 p.m. (unless otherwise noted). There is limited availability, so viewers are advised to log on early.

The city of Southfield continues to utilize the latest technology to improve customer service and communication with residents. The City launched its new and improved municipal Web site in May of 2007 to provide the community with a more interactive and streamlined source of City news and information. The new Southfield Web site is more user-friendly, offering improved navigation and detailed information in a quick and convenient format. The sleek new site also features an entirely new design with extensive photos and videos showcasing Southfield. The new site features more online services and downloadable City forms, applications and documents as well as Really Simple Syndication (RSS) – a popular way to distribute information from Web sites. Using RSS, subscribers automatically receive updates when new content is posted on the City’s Web site.
