(SOUTHFIELD, Mich.) – The city of Southfield will hold an online auction of surplus computers until October 17, 2007 on the Michigan Inter-governmental Trade Network (MITN). Items included in the auction are the result of system upgrades and/or equipment replacements throughout various city departments. All items are sold “as is,” with no guarantee or technical support provided.
To access the network, type in www.mitn.info; upon arrival at the “Bid Opportunities and Vendor Registration” page, select the “Surplus Auctions” option; at the MITN Surplus Auctions page, select “Computers and Networking” to browse through city of Southfield items. If planning to bid on an item, users must register by clicking on the “Auctions Main Menu” tab at the top of the page – registration/membership is free.
Computer packages include a hard drive, keyboard, monitor, power cords and mouse, as well as the original operating system software and instruction manual, if available.
