(SOUTHFIELD, Mich.)
– The City of Southfield Emergency Management Division
will offer free disaster and emergency preparedness classes on the last
Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Emergency Management offices located
in the basement of the Southfield
Parks and Recreation
building, 26000 Evergreen Road.
Upcoming classes will be held: August 29, September 26, October 24,
November 28 and December 19. All classes provide participants with a
step-by-step approach to disaster preparedness; how to develop a disaster plan;
and how to prepare for sheltering and evacuations during times of
disaster. The course provides information on possible disasters such as
severe weather and tornadoes and addresses how to prepare for them. All
participants will also receive a free disaster survival kit ($70 value).
