Southfield Goodfellows seek community support for needy families

(SOUTHFIELD, Mich.) – The Southfield Goodfellows are seeking monetary donations to purchase food, clothing and gifts for Southfield and Lathrup Village children, families and senior citizens in need. Individual and organizational donors may also sponsor a “Giving Tree,” where Goodfellows provide donors with tags listing the first name, age and gender of a specific needy child in the community. Giving Tree commitments must be made by September 30, 2007.

The Southfield Goodfellows is an all-volunteer non-profit 501 (c) (3) tax exempt organization that provides assistance through the coordinated efforts of donors and volunteers. The group works in partnership with the Southfield Human Services Department to identify senior citizens and families with school-aged children who require assistance during the holiday season.

Donors wishing to make a monetary contribution may make a check or money order payable to Southfield Goodfellows and mail to P.O. Box 2336, Southfield, MI 48037-2336.  Donations may also be made online at  www.southfieldgoodfellows.org.  To participate in the Giving Tree program or to obtain more information, call (248) 788-5899, leave a message and indicate call back information.
