City of Southfield wins MEDA award for best Web site

(SOUTHFIELD, Mich.) – The city of Southfield was recently awarded ‘Best Web site’ in the Michigan Economic Developers Association’s (MEDA) 2nd annual MEDA Marketing Materials Competition for cities with populations below 100,000.

Submissions were evaluated based on creativity, graphic design, and content. Entries were judged by a panel of independent representatives from professional public relations and marketing firms, including: Jeffrey R. Caponigro, president and CEO of Caponigro Public Relations; Laurie Hix, creative director, Brogan & Partners Convergence Marketing; and Howard English, manager of account development, Ford & Earl, LLC. The judges commented that the site was overall an, “excellent Web site that is graphically appealing, easy to navigate with very good information.” The award will be given at the MEDA 2007 Annual Meeting to be held Thursday, August 23 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Mountain Grand Lodge and Spa in Boyne Falls, Michigan.

The Michigan Economic Developers Association was founded in 1960 to advance economic development throughout Michigan, and increase the individual member’s effectiveness in the economic development profession. The association’s goal is to provide a variety of services and programs which will enhance professional’s ability and skills in economic development. Through education, legislative updates, public relations and networking, MEDA makes it possible for economic development professionals to do their jobs more efficiently and effectively.
