The city of Southfield, in partnership with the City Centre Advisory Board, will sponsor the “Eat to the Beat” lunch concert series every Thursday this summer June 21 – September 13 from 12 noon – 2:00 p.m. at the City Centre Plaza located on Central Park Boulevard, one block west of Evergreen between Civic Center Drive and the I-696 Service Drive.
This year’s music lineup is as follows:
June 21 The Brothers Groove – Funk/rock/jazz alchemists with special guests The Motor City Horns
June 28 GEQ – Classic jazz & be-bop played with dynamic style and energy
July 5 The George Brothers – Seasoned rock ‘n’ roll veterans seen playing with Mitch Ryder
July 12 Larry Lee & Back in the Day – Funk, R&B, classic rock, and jazz
July 19 Soull Shakerr – Rock, ballads, & Psychedelic Soul
July 26 Straight Ahead – Virtuoso jazz ensemble
Aug. 2 The Orbitsuns – Gritty rock with a Southern twang and a Motor City feel
Aug. 9 Ed Nuccilli & Plural Circle – A unique 18-piece be-bop orchestra
Aug. 16 Hot Club of Detroit – Lively and infectious Gypsy Jazz
Aug. 23 Hotsauce – A unique mix of R&B, rock, Soul, Gospel, Hip Hop and funk
Aug. 30 Orchestra Sensacional – Hot, multi award winning Latin band
Sept. 6 The Witch Doctors – Rockin blues
Sept. 13 The Sun Messengers – Horn-driven R&B
