Mayor's Roundtables

Southfield Mayor Brenda Lawrence will begin a series of community roundtables on Wednesday, March 31 with a recap of her State of the City address. The event will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Marcotte Room located in the lower level of the former Southfield Public Library, 26000 Evergreen Road. Free parking is available in the underground parking garage adjacent to the facility.

The Mayor’s Roundtables are designed to allow residents the opportunity to discuss predetermined topics that impact the quality of life in Southfield.  The roundtables will continue on Thursday, April 8 on the topic of taxes; May 13 on public safety; and June 3 on Parks & Recreation programs and facilities. All roundtables will begin at 7 p.m. in the Marcotte Room. City of Southfield department heads and staff will be on hand to answer questions related to the respective topic.
 

Space is limited, so residents must make reservations by calling the Mayor’s Office at (248) 796-5100.

  • Mayor Lawrence is the first African-American and woman to serve as the Mayor of Southfield (elected in 2001).

  • Mayor Lawrence was appointed to serve as a member on the U.S. Conference of Mayor’s Advisory Board.

  • Mayor Lawrence is actively working with State Senator Gilda Jacobs, State Representative Vincent Gregory, and City Council to pass legislation to provide tax relief for Southfield residents.
