Councilman Sidney Lantz
Sidney Lantz, a graduate of the City College of New York and the U.S. Army School of Cryptography, has been an active member of the Southfield city council as city councilman for eighteen prosperous years. A resident of the community for thirty-five years, Mr. Lantz has worked hard to help Southfield become more unified. Of his accomplishments, he is most proud of his drafting the resolution of togetherness, thereby bringing all in the City of Southfield together in a spirit of warmth and unity. Among his other achievements, Mr. Lantz proposed building the Southfield Veterans Memorial Gardens, and the creation of a youth directors position to curb teenage violence and behavior problems, while benefiting the city’s youth. On future accomplishments, Mr. Lantz would like to see all within the community function together, respecting one another before he leaves office. In Mr. Lantz’s belief, in order for a community to meet its challenges effectively, all diverse groups must cooperate to advance understanding through education, programming and volunteerism.
